Maxilla

The maxilla is the upper jawbone, a fixed paired bone that forms the roof of the mouth, the floor of the nasal cavity and orbits, and houses the upper teeth.

The maxilla also contains the maxillary sinuses, whose floor is sometimes augmented during a sinus lift before placing upper posterior implants.
