Orthodontics
Invisalign
A brand of clear, removable orthodontic aligners that gradually straighten teeth.
Invisalign is the most widely recognised brand of clear aligner therapy. Treatment begins with a digital scan or impression, from which a series of custom thermoplastic trays is manufactured. Each tray moves the teeth approximately 0.25 mm and is worn 20–22 hours a day for one to two weeks before progressing to the next. Compared with fixed braces, aligners are nearly invisible, removable for eating and brushing, and generally more comfortable, though they require strong patient compliance. They are best suited to mild and moderate crowding, spacing, and bite issues; complex cases may still require traditional brackets or surgical orthodontics.
