Using Tags to Organize Plans

Create and use tags to categorize and filter your treatment plans

Organising Plans With Tags

Tags are flexible labels you can attach to any treatment plan to keep your library searchable as it grows. They are far more powerful than folders because a single plan can carry as many tags as you need — by patient cohort, treatment type, urgency, payer, or any custom dimension that matters to your practice.

Common Tagging Patterns

  • By treatment area — endodontic, orthodontic, periodontal, cosmetic, implant.
  • By status — draft, awaiting approval, scheduled, completed, follow-up needed.
  • By patient cohort — paediatric, geriatric, anxious patient, new patient.
  • By payer — private, insurance, NHS, self-pay.
  • By urgency — routine, urgent, emergency.

Adding Tags to a Plan

  1. Open any plan from the dashboard.
  2. In the right-hand metadata panel, click the Tags field.
  3. Type a tag name. If it already exists you'll see it in the dropdown — pick it. If it's new, press Enter to create it.
  4. Repeat for as many tags as you need. There is no limit per plan.

Managing Your Tag Library

Open Tags in the sidebar to see every tag in your workspace, how many plans use each one, and when each was last applied. From here you can rename a tag (changes propagate to every plan), merge two tags into one, choose a colour, or delete a tag you no longer need.

Filtering Plans by Tag

From the main plans list, click Filter in the toolbar and choose one or more tags. Use matches all to find plans carrying every selected tag, or matches any to broaden the search. Filters can be combined with date ranges, language, and status for very precise lookups.

Tags in Clinic Workspaces

In a clinic workspace, tags are shared across the whole team — so the labelling system you build benefits every colleague immediately. Owners and admins can lock specific tags to prevent accidental renames.
