Treatment Plans
Using Clinical Templates
Apply curated clinical templates to prefill common treatment scenarios — or save your own
What Are Clinical Templates?
Templates are reusable starting points for treatment plans. Each template prefills common information — document name, patient age group, treatment approach, and clinical notes — so you can focus on what makes each case unique.
Opening the Template Picker
Start creating a new plan and look for the ✨ Templates button in the header of the Diagnose flow. Clicking it opens a dialog with two tabs:
- Curated — Built-in templates maintained by the Dental Reviewed team (for example "Single-tooth implant", "Endo + crown molar", "Full-arch clear aligners").
- My templates — Templates you've saved from your own plans.
Applying a Template
Click any template card to apply it. A success toast confirms the choice and the dialog closes. The template fills in fields on Step 2 (Plan) — treatment approach, patient age, and notes — while leaving you on Step 1 (Diagnose) so you can still select the specific teeth and conditions for this case.
This means a template is a head start, not a finished plan: you decide which teeth are involved and what's wrong with each one, and the template handles the boilerplate around it.
Saving Your Own Template
Once you have a plan configured the way you want, open the template picker and click + Save current as template. Give it a name and it will appear under the My templates tab the next time you create a plan.
Saved templates capture the current document name, patient age, treatment approach, and overall notes — anything that's commonly reusable.
Deleting a Template
Hover over any template you created on the My templates tab and click the trash icon. Curated templates cannot be deleted.
